Save Money with a FSA Account

You have 30 days from date of hire to elect to participate in two types of Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), health care and dependent care administered by The Advantage Group. Participating in Flexible Spending Accounts provides you the following benefits:

  • Use pre-tax dollars to pay for out-of-pocket cost for medical and dependent care.
  • Reduce your taxable income. Taxes will be calculated after the elected amount is deducted from your salary.

Health Care FSA

  • Contribute up to $3,200 each plan year.
  • You’ll receive a debit card to pay for eligible medical, dental and vision care expenses.
  • Examples of medical expenses are: co-pays, prescriptions, deductibles, chiropractic care, orthodontia, root canals, eye exams, prescription glasses, contacts, contact lens solutions, smoking cessation programs, vision corrective surgery, and more.
  • Expenses must be for the period of coverage.
  • Use it or lose it.

Dependent Care FSA

  • Contribute up to $5,000 each plan year ($2,500 if married and filing separate tax returns).
  • Use Dependent Care FSA to pay expenses for qualified dependent care.
  • Examples of dependent care are: day care centers, babysitters, payment to a relative who is not your dependent, and summer day camps.

Important

  • You must elect to contribute each year. This benefit does not continue automatically. 
  • If you decide to enroll, your annual contribution amount is deducted from your paycheck each pay period in equal installments – before taxes – and deposited into your FSA.
  • Use it or Lose it Rule.
