Nominations Now Open

Nominate a property for the 2nd Annual Preserve Pomona Awards for Historic Preservation.  Fill out the nomination form and email, mail, or drop off at the Planning Division counter.  Nominations are due no later than March 1, 2024.

New Brochures for Pomona's Historic Districts

The City has created new brochures highlighting Pomona's three Residential Historic Districts, Lincoln Park, Wilton Heights, and Hacienda Park.  They are available below in English and Spanish.  Brochures for the Landmark Quarter and the Civic Center Historic Districts are coming soon.

Preserving Pomona - Pomona's Historic Preservation Program

Pomona's Historic Preservation program was established to preserve the City of Pomona's cultural, historical, and architectural heritage and resources as living parts of community life which will benefit and enrich the lives of its present and future residents by:

  1. Preserve the diverse architectural styles reflecting phases of the city of Pomona's history and encourage complementary contemporary development to inspire a more livable urban environment;
  2. Build civic pride by promoting the understanding, appreciation, and enjoyment of the city's rich heritage and cultural resources;
  3. Enhance property values and increase economic and financial benefits to the city;
  4. Enhance the city of Pomona for residents, tourists and visitors thereby stimulating business and industry; and
  5. Conserve valuable material and energy resources by fostering ongoing use and maintenance of the existing built environment.
