Certified Backflow Testers: Why They're Important

To ensure that our drinking water is clean and free of harmful contaminants, mechanical backflow prevention assemblies are used to stop used, dirty, or contaminated water from entering our potable/domestic water system. To prevent contamination, it may be necessary to install testable backflow prevention assemblies that can prevent backflow from occurring. In Los Angeles County, these assemblies must be tested every year by a certified backflow tester approved by the County of Los Angeles.

It's important to note that anyone who installs, repairs, or tests testable backflow prevention assemblies within the County of Los Angeles must have a current certification from the Los Angeles County backflow tester program. This ensures that only qualified professionals are handling the job and keeping our drinking water safe.
