Pomona Public Library Awarded Over $6 Million for Critical Library Infrastructure Upgrades

POMONA – The City is proud to announce that notice was received this week from the California State Library, indicating that the Pomona Public Library has been awarded over $6,014,328 in grant funding for critical Library infrastructure upgrades. This funding will be utilized to replace the Library roof; completely upgrade Library HVAC equipment, systems and automation controls; and implement various other lighting, energy efficiency and patron comfort enhancements.

The forthcoming improvements to be implemented with these grant funds, will greatly improve the patron experience and Library user comfort, increase building efficiency and reliability and will build off the recently completed circulation area remodel to continue to make the Pomona Public Library a more safe, welcoming and enjoyable Library for all of our patrons.

“I thank the California State Library for their continued support and commend staff, as well as our Library support groups, for their continued work and collaboration towards enhancing the Library experience for all of our patrons,” said Mayor Tim Sandoval.
